Committee to consider actions to honour the late President James Mancham
President Danny Faure has set up a Committee to consider and make recommendations on actions that could be taken to honour the memory of the late President James Mancham. The Committee met on Monday 30th January 2017 and they made a number of suggestions and reviewed proposals submitted by the general public.
On Thursday 2nd February 2017, the Chairperson of the Committee, Ambassador Bernard Shamlaye, met with representatives of the Sir James Mancham International Centre for Peace Studies and Diplomacy. The purpose of the meeting was for Ambassador Shamlaye to inform the Centre of the different proposals that were considered by the Committee. It was agreed that the Centre will play a leading role in implementing the proposed actions.
The Committee will present the recommendations to President Faure in March 2017.
